The espresso, by the numbers
The single espresso is 8 grams of coffee to 25 millilitres in the cup; the double is 16 grams to 50 millilitres. Those ratios are printed on the menu in the room, which is unusual for Ohrid and deliberate — a ratio tells you more about a cafe than any adjective does.
From there the build-outs are straightforward and sized properly rather than oversized: macchiato and americano at 165 ml, cappuccino at 165 ml with steamed milk, latte at 180 ml on a double shot. There is no 400 ml bucket of milk with a shot lost somewhere inside it.
Matcha, and the rest of the hot menu
Ceremonial matcha is served hot or cold in a 250 ml serving, 160 denars hot and 190 cold, with fruit puree or cashew milk available as additions for 40 denars each. It is whisked to order, not poured from a pre-mixed bottle.
Alongside the coffee there is tea, hot chocolate with steamed milk and real chocolate, and salep — the thick, warm winter drink you will find in very few places in town. Nescafe is on the menu too, honestly labelled as instant, because some people want it and pretending otherwise helps nobody.
Dairy-free as a default, not a favour
Every milk drink on this page can be made with cashew milk for 40 denars extra. That line sits on the printed menu rather than being something you have to ask for, and it is the single reason a vegan can order from the whole coffee list here rather than from two items on it.
Espresso, double espresso, americano and tea are vegan exactly as served, with nothing to swap and nothing to add. If you are after cold coffee instead, the thirteen iced drinks have their own page.
